In the upcoming Netflix series Eric, Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as a desperate father alongside Gaby Hoffmann.
Vincent Anderson, a famous Sherlock Holmes actor, will play the lead role. Vincent Anderson is a desperate father looking for his missing nine-year-old son, who went missing one morning on his way to school.
Eric depicts Vincent’s 1980s New York, when he was one of the city’s most prominent puppeteers and the creator of the hugely successful children’s television show “Good Day Sunshine.”
As he tries to deal with Edgar’s death, he becomes increasingly agitated and volatile.
Vincent clings to his son’s drawings of a blue monster puppet, ERIC, in the hope that his son will return home if he can get these drawings on television. Vincent is feeling guilty about Edgar’s disappearance.
In addition to Cumberbatch, the series also stars McKinley Belcher III as Detective Michael Ledroit and Gaby Hoffmann as Cassie Anderson.
Abi Morgan OBE, a BAFTA and Emmy winner who also wrote The Split, River, and Suffragette, created and wrote Eric.
“Eric is a dark and insane voyage into the heart of 1980s New York, and the good, evil, and ugly world of Vincent, a talented puppeteer on one of America’s biggest kids TV shows,” said executive producer Abi Morgan.
“The chance to work with Benedict and the creative team at Sister and Netflix, is irresistible,” he added in further detail.
