American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib said in a statement on Twitter that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a long history of targeting Muslims and religious minorities, violating human rights and targeting journalists.
Yet it is shameful to offer Modi a platform in the US capital. Rashida Taleb also announced a boycott of the joint session of the House called for Narendra Modi’s address.
According to Indian media, 75 members of Congress and the House of Representatives wrote a letter to President Joe Biden on the ongoing human rights violations in India after Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in America.
