Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, expressed concern over Imran Khan receiving what he perceives as leniency.
Speaking in Larkana, he emphasized PPP’s stance against political vendettas and highlighted the seriousness of the cipher issue, stressing on the need for a thorough investigation due to its potential impact on national security.
Bilawal raised alarm over the lack of a record for the cipher given to Imran Khan, which Khan himself claimed was lost. The subsequent leak of this information to international media on the day of Khan’s arrest intensifies the gravity of the situation. He urged the courts or the government to conduct a rigorous investigation, or alternatively, suggested a judicial inquiry by judges.
Addressing queries about electoral alliances, Bilawal emphasized the importance of political workers having the freedom to engage in politics regardless of their affiliations. He encouraged individuals, even from parties like PTI, to join PPP and participate in politics, underscoring PPP’s commitment to democracy over retaliation.
Touching on previous election slogans, he referred to Nawaz Sharif’s past rallying cry of “Why did you oust me?” in the upcoming election cycle.
