Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asserted that the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) has developed a pattern of evading elections, but regardless of their inclination, elections are scheduled for February 8.
Speaking at a workers’ convention in Constituency NA 127, Lahore, Bilawal expressed surprise at the absence of PML-N, traditionally considered the party stronghold in the city. He emphasized the PPP’s commitment to not allow any evasion.
Bilawal remarked that the (N) League has made a habit of avoiding elections, but on February 8, elections will proceed. He highlighted that the focus of the Pakistan People’s Party is not on challenging individual politicians or parties but on addressing issues such as poverty, inflation, and unemployment. A ten-point public economic agreement will be employed to combat these challenges.
Additionally, Bilawal Bhutto announced the initiation of a hunger eradication program to eliminate hunger in Pakistan. If elected as the prime minister, he pledged to double salaries, provide free education and health facilities in Punjab, and construct 3 million houses for the impoverished. The PPP chairman also revealed plans for a youth card to support the financial needs of the youth.
Bilawal urged party workers to actively promote the election manifesto, emphasizing that the PPP has entered the political arena in Lahore. Despite the perception of PML-N and PTI dominance in the city, he declared that only the PPP is visible in the political landscape. Bilawal expressed confidence that winning Lahore would bring about a positive transformation in the fate of the city and the province.
