Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has prohibited newly married couples from having photo shoots at the Governor House.
Speaking to senior journalists, Governor Kundi stated that this decision was made to protect the privacy and historical significance of the Governor’s House.
Governor Kundi emphasized his willingness to engage in discussions to secure the province’s rights. He mentioned having no issues with Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, expressing their ability to work together and meet wherever necessary. He remarked that their positions should be leveraged for the province’s benefit and that any competition should be confined to the electoral field.
Addressing issues faced by local farmers in Dera Ismail Khan, Governor Kundi criticized the provincial government for purchasing wheat from Punjab instead of supporting local farmers. He highlighted that wheat is being smuggled into DI Khan from Punjab and Sindh via dirt roads.
Kundi also pointed out that the provincial government’s conflicts with the federal government have prevented the inclusion of significant projects in the PSDP for the next financial year. However, using his connections, he successfully included the Cheshma Right Bank Lift Canal project in the PSDP. He noted that this project would significantly impact the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and shared plans to meet with leaders of all political parties, with the process already underway.
