British company's air taxi trial

A UK technology company has created an aerial taxi that can fly from Manchester to Leeds in record time.

Tech company Vertical Aerospace is testing an all-electric aircraft that will be capable of shortening the range.

The VX4 aircraft looks like a combination of a helicopter and a jet plane, but technically features neither. Officially, it is an EVTOL, Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing aircraft.

“We are in a very exciting time for aerospace,” said Michael Cerwinka, the company’s CTO. We’ve seen a lot of changes in aerospace safety and efficiency since the jet age.

He said that when we think about aerospace, most of us think about long-range aircraft. But we would prefer to use aircraft to avoid city traffic.
