ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy Owais Leghari has said that there will be good news regarding IPPs in a few weeks.
He said this while giving a briefing to the Standing Committee on Energy of the National Assembly. The Energy Minister said that the task force has jointly reviewed various institutions for the first time in history, including the government’s own plants, and discussed reducing the profits of IPPs.
He said that they are reviewing many issues including the price of furnace oil and coal, which plants should be used in the future? The task force is looking at all the issues, there is no such corner in the power sector that there is a reduction of Rs.
The energy minister said that in a few weeks there will be good news with mutual consent. I can’t tell, these cameras are ready for the briefing.
Owais Leghari added that the task force is in talks with all the power generation companies and hopefully a better solution will be found within the contract.
