Caretaker Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Murtaza Solangi, has emphasized that the government cannot afford to purchase petroleum products at high costs and then sell them at lower prices. He made these remarks during a press briefing following a meeting of the caretaker federal cabinet. This inaugural cabinet session, chaired by the caretaker Prime Minister, focused on ensuring transparent and peaceful upcoming elections in the country.
In relation to the electoral process, Solangi mentioned that subsequent to the cabinet gathering, he held discussions with the Chief Election Commissioner. The Commissioner assured them of complete cooperation, and it was noted that the first vote on election day would be cast by the caretaker Prime Minister, followed by the cabinet members.
Solangi conveyed that Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar provided each cabinet member with an overview of his ministry’s functions. The Prime Minister has directed efforts to reduce expenses, and a committee was established during the cabinet session to address economic recovery.
Emphasizing the government’s commitment to safeguarding minority rights and equal human rights for all citizens, Solangi expressed collective regret over the unfortunate incident in Jaranwala. The cabinet stressed the promotion of Sufism within the country.
Concluding his remarks, Solangi affirmed the cabinet’s dedication to upholding their oath, discharging responsibilities in alignment with the constitution and legal norms.
