In Islamabad, the District and Sessions Court has issued an order for Imran Khan to be brought to the next hearing in the case involving his alleged illegal marriage.
The case, which also involves Bushra Bibi, was presided over by Civil Judge Qudratullah. During the proceedings, the prosecutor’s assistant, Rizwan Abbasi, appeared in court, and a letter from the Superintendent of Attock Jail was presented. In the letter, Chairman PTI expressed his regret for not being able to appear in court, citing security concerns as the reason.
The letter stated that due to security reasons, the chairman could not personally attend court proceedings. Subsequently, during the hearing, Rizwan Abbasi, the prosecutor’s assistant, submitted a request to postpone the hearing, explaining that he had a busy schedule at the Supreme Court and couldn’t be present in court.
After a recess, the hearing resumed, and Chairman PTI’s lawyer, Sher Afzal Marwat, appeared in court. He requested an adjournment of the hearing and emphasized that Chairman PTI should be directed to appear before the court once again. It was noted that the case had moved from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail following an order from the Islamabad High Court, and Chairman PTI was currently in state custody.
The judge, while conversing with Chairman PTI’s lawyer, inquired about the necessity of the chairman’s presence in court. Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing until October 2 and ordered that PTI Chairman be brought to court for the next hearing.
