Lahore: Imran Khan, the Chairman PTI, has taken the Lahore High Court to task by contesting the rejection of bail pleas by the anti-terrorism court.
The former Prime Minister has submitted seven petitions to the Lahore High Court through the representation of lawyer Barrister Salman Safdar. These petitions name the ATC and the Superintendent of Attock Jail among others as parties.
The petitions presented in the High Court contend that the Toshakhana should be located at Attock Jail for this case. It is argued that being incarcerated hinders Imran Khan’s ability to personally attend court proceedings. The ATC’s assessment of the facts is criticized for its inadequacy and subsequent cancellation of the bonds.
Imran Khan, in his plea, requests the Lahore High Court to overturn the dismissal of the bail applications and instruct the ATC to review all the applications afresh.
It’s noteworthy that Chairman PTI, the head of Tehreek-e-Insaf, has lodged a challenge against the Anti-Terrorism Court’s decision in seven cases, including the Jinnah House attack case. A two-judge panel of the Lahore High Court is scheduled to address Imran Khan’s petitions today.
