Former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has been relocated to PIMS Hospital in Islamabad due to a deterioration in his health.
This move comes after Adiala Jail authorities informed the court about his condition. Consequently, the Islamabad High Court dismissed a petition calling for his transfer to the hospital.
The petition had been filed against the decision to move Elahi from PIMS to Adiala Jail against medical advice. Following statements from the jail authorities confirming Elahi’s transfer to PIMS, the court disposed of the petition. Elahi’s wife had approached the Islamabad High Court seeking orders for his transfer back to PIMS Hospital.
