Chief Minister Punjab called for a comprehensive plan to build one lakh houses.

In Lahore, Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has emphasized the need for a comprehensive plan to construct one hundred thousand houses in the province.

This initiative aligns with the pledges made during the election campaign. Leading a special meeting regarding the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ project, Nawaz urged the development of a strategy for its implementation. The project aims to construct over three thousand houses for low-income individuals in each district of Punjab.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Nawaz instructed officials to expedite the creation of model houses within six weeks, with minimal down payments and monthly installments. She affirmed the government’s commitment to providing housing to those in need, stressing that this promise would be fulfilled. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of ensuring construction quality and sustainability in prefabricated houses, while also advocating for their proximity to urban centers for ease of transportation.

The gathering was attended by notable figures including former Senator Pervez Rasheed, Member of the Assembly Uzma Bukhari, as well as various government officials such as the Chief Secretary, SMBR, Chairman P&D, Secretary Housing, Secretary Finance, and Commissioner of Lahore.
