In Islamabad, Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zedong emphasized that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to China will significantly bolster the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations, fostering stronger bilateral ties.
Scheduled for departure tomorrow, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a 5-day journey to China, accompanied by a distinguished delegation, following an invitation extended by Chinese Premier Li Qiang.
During his visit, Prime Minister Sharif is slated to engage in discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, Chairman of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee Zhao Liji, and other senior officials. The agenda will encompass discussions on bilateral economic relations, the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), as well as regional and global matters of mutual concern. In addition to Beijing, the Prime Minister will also visit the cities of Xi’an and Shenzhen.
Ambassador Jiang underscored that the Prime Minister’s visit will not only advance Pakistan’s economic and social progress but will also demonstrate the steadfast solidarity and cooperation between the two nations to the international community. He emphasized the longstanding strategic ties, emphasizing the close rapport between the leaders of China and Pakistan over the past 73 years, which have withstood the test of time.
Expressing optimism, Ambassador Jiang anticipated that the visit would yield significant consensus on enhancing the quality of CPEC development, further propelling practical cooperation between China and Pakistan. He highlighted the substantial achievements of CPEC initiatives, including substantial investments, job creation, infrastructure development, and energy generation.
Moreover, Ambassador Jiang highlighted the exchange of congratulatory messages between President Xi Jinping and Pakistani leaders following the general elections in March, underscoring the mutual commitment to enhancing and upgrading CPEC cooperation.
Prime Minister Sharif, in correspondence, reaffirmed the government’s unwavering commitment to the high-quality advancement of CPEC, emphasizing the prioritization of its effective implementation.
