Chinese scientists claim to have created a ‘real Death Star’ capable of destroying enemy satellites in space.
The Death Star is a weapon featured in the famous science fiction film ‘Star Wars’ that is capable of destroying a planet.
Inspired by science fiction movies, this weapon combines pulses of microwave radiation to create a powerful beam.
For them to meet, the electromagnetic pulses have to hit the same target for 1700 trillionths of a second. And doing so requires time accuracy greater than the atomic clocks installed on modern GPS satellites. This is a task that was previously thought to be impossible.
The weapon has gone through all the testing stages for its potential military use, which has been made possible thanks to ‘Ultra-High Time Precision Synchronization’.
Experts say the object could be used for a variety of purposes, including educational and training, verification of new technology and military exercises.
According to the South China Morning Post, this secret space weapon uses seven microwave firing ‘vehicles’. These vehicles are deployed in a large area but fire together to deliver a powerful beam attack.
