PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi has approached the Islamabad High Court seeking suspension of his sentence in the cipher case.
Qureshi contends that the conviction under Section 9 of the Official Secrets Act fails to establish conspiracy or treason. He asserts that as a former foreign minister, the responsibility for cipher protection lies with the principal secretary, not him.
Qureshi highlights that he was granted bail by the Supreme Court following his arrest. He further requests the Islamabad High Court, which previously declared the trial void twice due to legal flaws, to suspend his prior sentence and secure his release.
