Cipher case trial injunction returned, proceedings after December 14 declared null and void.

Parliament has ended corruption cases, when consciousness comes, it will be too late, Islamabad High Court

The Islamabad High Court, presided over by Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb, overturned the injunction order related to the cipher case trial, declaring all proceedings null and void after December 14.

The appeal against the in-camera trial of PTI’s founding chairman’s cipher case was heard, with Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan and lawyer Salman Akram Raja present. The Attorney General presented arguments, and Salman Akram Raja asserted in court that proceedings post the December 14 order should be deemed invalid, acknowledging the incorrectness of the said order.

Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb suggested to the Attorney General that if they wished to withdraw the proceedings, it should be done from the point where the order was issued, with a regular order to follow. The Attorney General assured the court of resuming the in-camera proceedings and mentioned the readiness to re-record statements from 13 witnesses.

Subsequently, the court nullified all cipher case trial proceedings after December 14 and lifted the injunction.
