Closure of Lahore theaters due to breaches of regulations and moral standards.

Lahore: Acting upon the directives of Commissioner Lahore Division, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the district administration has taken the step of closing down all theaters in the area.

As per the district administration’s spokesperson, theaters including Naz, Tamashil, Shama, Satara, Al-Falah, and Mahfil have been shut down in accordance with the instructions provided by Commissioner Lahore Division.

The district administration’s representative stated that Bari theater had already been closed a few days ago due to rule violations. Subsequent to a surprise inspection of Tamashil theatre, Commissioner Lahore Muhammad Ali Randhawa mandated the closure of all theaters. This decision came in light of observed violations of both legal regulations and moral standards in the city.

It’s worth recalling that the Punjab government had previously enforced a ban on commercial stage performances at Al Hamra Hall in Lahore. Moreover, a ban was also imposed on 18 dancers who were involved in explicit performances during stage plays across the entire province.
