
The Islamabad High Court has summoned the Jail Superintendent at 10 o’clock tomorrow for not meeting the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan despite the court order.
In the Islamabad High Court, a hearing was held on the contempt of court petition of Imran Khan for not meeting the political leaders despite the court order. Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan heard the case.
Advocate Faisal Chaudhry appeared in the court on behalf of Imran Khan, he told the court that earlier orders have been issued by the same court, according to the jail rules, the court had issued the orders.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan inquired what is the situation now, Faisal Chaudhry said that the meeting with the political leaders of the party has been canceled again, we repeatedly trouble this court but we have to come here.
Imran Khan’s lawyer said that the same court had also established a commission consisting of three lawyers but the implementation was not being done, Shibli Faraz, Umar Ayub, Asad Qaiser were not allowed to meet.
The court inquired that the petitioner is not convicted in any case, to which Faisal Chaudhry said that no, the petitioner is not convicted in any case, he is an under-trial prisoner.
The court inquired from the small estate council as to why this happens again and again, despite our order that if the petition comes, we have written that the estate will be fined.
The State Council said that we ask the jail authorities whatever the situation is, the superintendent of jails can best explain why the meeting is not held.
The court directed the State Council to look into the application, to appear before the jail superintendent tomorrow.
The petitioner’s counsel pleaded that contempt of court proceedings be instituted for violating the court order.
The court summoned the jail superintendent and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
