Decision of Nawaz Sharif’s return and Imran Khan’s to take part in election will be according to Law; Prime Minister

London: The Caretaker Prime Minister, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar, has emphasized that the return of Nawaz Sharif and the decision regarding Chairman PTI’s participation in the upcoming elections will strictly adhere to the rule of law.

During his interaction with the media in London, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar underscored that the caretaker government’s actions regarding Nawaz Sharif’s return to Pakistan will be carried out in accordance with legal procedures. He emphasized that they will thoroughly assess Nawaz Sharif’s judicial permissions and seek input from the Ministry of Law in this regard.

Kakar clarified that the caretaker government operates independently of any political party, stressing their commitment to upholding the constitutional and legal framework. He expressed their intent to avoid any perception of bias against any political group or party.

Regarding his previous statements about Chairman PTI, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar clarified that his words had been misconstrued, and he highlighted that the ultimate decision on Imran Khan’s participation in the election will be determined by the law.

Kakar stressed that these matters revolve around legality, not politics. He emphasized that it is not within the Deputy Commissioner’s authority to prevent someone from participating in the election and that he cannot alter the existing laws.

Furthermore, the Caretaker Prime Minister emphasized that his visit to London should not be politicized, as he had not engaged in any political meetings or interactions. Instead, his visit primarily involved discussions with businessmen, one of whom expressed interest in investing a substantial amount in Pakistan.

Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar dispelled rumors of any deals or compromises, attributing such speculations to media sensationalism. He asserted that if he were personally involved in the May 9 incident, he would advocate for his own punishment.

Kakar also addressed the issue of a certain injection being misused in Punjab’s healthcare system, stating that the Minister of Health has informed him about corrective measures being taken. Those responsible for negligence in this matter are being identified and will face consequences.

In response to a question, Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar clarified that the decision to privatize certain institutions is not dictated by the IMF but is intended to rectify deficits within these organizations. The aim is to prevent the country from going bankrupt due to continued subsidies. The process of privatizing two institutions will be carried out as planned.
