Iraq has expelled the ambassador of Sweden for allowing the impure audacity of burning the Holy Quran. According to the international news agency, there was a strong protest at the Swedish embassy in Iraq against the burning of the Holy Quran.
Demonstrators full of grief and anger stormed the embassy. The demonstrators set fire to the Swedish embassy and the people also demanded the expulsion of the Swedish ambassador.
Upon which the Iraqi government expelled the Swedish ambassador and also recalled its charge d’affaires in Iraq in Sweden.
It also suspended Swedish telecom company Ericsson’s working permit on Iraqi soil. However, later on Thursday, the government said in a statement that if the Koran was burned a second time in the country, it would be Sweden’s.
