Earthquake tremors were felt in various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, including the federal capital Islamabad.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Center, the epicenter of the earthquake was the border region of Afghanistan and Tajikistan, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 6 and its depth was 223 kilometers.
Earthquake tremors were felt in other areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Bunir Malakand, Chitral, Swat, Mardan, Murree, Shahkot, Shakargarh, Zafrowal, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur Azad Kashmir, Abbottabad and Hari.
It were also felt in other surrounding areas including Taxila, Wah Cantt, Fateh Jang, Attock and Chiniot, causing panic among the citizens. According to the report, the earthquake occurred at 10:49, but no loss of life or property has been reported from any area.
