
Islamabad: The federal government on Monday approved a budget of 51 billion rupees for the development schemes of the members of assembly and the prices of 25 types of medicines.
The Economic Coordination Committee approved 47.1 billion rupees for the nationwide schemes of the Ministry of Housing and Works in a meeting held on Monday, and approved a supplementary grant of 2.7 billion rupees for the power division schemes in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 61.3 billion rupees were approved for the schemes of trains.
The committee approved 26.4 billion rupees for the members of the assembly belonging to the coalition parties in Punjab, 9.3 billion rupees for Sindh, 9 billion rupees for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 2 billion rupees for the government members of Balochistan.
Schemes worth Rs 6 billion were approved. It should be noted that according to the rules of the Ministry of Finance, only 15% of the annual budget can be spent in the first quarter, but the coalition government has approved to spend about 56% of the budget within a month, in addition to a supplementary grant of Rs 10 billion for the Prime Minister Youth Business and Agriculture Loan Scheme, the supply of wheat to the provinces at a price derived from local and import prices was also approved.
that all recipients will pay the full price of wheat and incidental charges to PASCO, as the federal government will not bear any financial responsibility, the committee also directed the provincial governments to pay 149 billion rupees due to PASCO before signing the memorandum of understanding for wheat procurement this year.
Transfer of export processing zone has been allowed, local currency will be preferred in the zone, this permission will be given for the next five years only on production of local products.
The committee approved the commissioning of 1,263 MW Punjab Thermal Power Limited Jhang, the committee approved the summary of petroleum division and also allowed re-allocation of condensate to Attock Refinery Limited on 5,000 barrels per day basis.
