Eight judges from Islamabad High Court have received threatening letters containing unidentified powder.

Eight judges, including the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, have reportedly received threatening letters containing an unidentified powder, prompting the police to summon experts for investigation.

As per reports from Express News, a concerning incident has emerged involving judges from the Islamabad High Court. Sources within the judiciary reveal that letters containing powder were sent to them. Upon opening, the staff of two judges discovered powder inside, resulting in immediate actions to mitigate potential harm, including the use of sanitizer and handwashing due to eye irritation.

In response to the letters, a team of experts from the Islamabad Police promptly arrived at the Islamabad High Court to examine the contents of the letters. Judicial sources indicate that the letters contain threatening messages and were sent without a return address. A total of eight suspicious letters were received, addressed to eight judges, including Chief Justice Amir Farooq. Notably, the letters were purportedly penned by a woman named Alia Waqar Hussain.

Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court, Justice Aamir Farooq, acknowledged the receipt of the letter and noted its role in causing delays in the day’s proceedings.

Following the discovery, the Islamabad High Court took swift action, summoning the Inspector General of Islamabad Police and the Deputy Inspector General of Security. The suspicious letters received by the judges were subsequently handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Department for further investigation.
