Election Commission; Senate resolution has no status, elections will be held on February 8.

The Election Commission asserts that the Senate’s resolution will not alter the election timetable. In a statement released, it was clarified that only directives from the Supreme Court hold the power to influence the election schedule, which remains fixed for February 8.

Despite the Senate’s majority approval of a resolution twice to postpone the general elections, the Election Commission emphasizes that the Senate resolution holds no validity and will not impact the predetermined election schedule.
