In Washington, Elon Musk has claimed that he averted a significant threat to Russia by denying Ukraine permission to utilize satellites.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and the founder of the social media platform X (Twitter), conveyed through a statement on X that he had shut down the Starlane network near the Russian port to prevent Ukraine from potentially launching an attack on Russia using satellite technology.
Elon Musk went on to explain that there were no viable alternatives other than declining Ukraine’s request to utilize the Starlink satellite system, as doing otherwise would have escalated the situation to a major act of warfare. However, he did not specify the exact timing of Ukraine’s request. This incident occurred in 2022 when Ukraine launched an attack on Russian coastal areas with the assistance of submarine drones.
