Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Europe remembers human rights and European values only when it sees its own interests.
According to international media reports, while commenting on the West’s silence on Ukraine’s attacks on Russia’ border region of Belgorod, Dmitry Peskov said in a TV interview that Europe uses human rights and European values for its own benefit.
He said that in fact Europe considers human rights as a flexible commodity. He never raises his voice when human rights go against his interest.
He recalled that for years before the Russian invasion, Western countries had been ignoring shelling attacks on Donbas, when there was no special military operation there.
Ukraine killed young, old, women and children there, the West turned a blind eye to the rows of children’s graves. We have not heard a single word of condemnation from them and now the talk of human rights
