Sheikh Rasheed, the leader of Awami Muslim League, had his interim bail extended in various cases, including the incident on May 9th.
Initially granted bail till November 18 with a bond of Rs 50,000 by the anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi, Rasheed, accompanied by his lawyer Sardar Abdul Razzaq Advocate, appeared before Judge Malik Ejaz Asif for the hearing.
Rasheed mentioned that during the proceedings, 23 cases were discussed, encompassing events such as the GHQ attack, assaults on sensitive and military institutions, and the May 9 tragedy. He highlighted the absence of cases before a certain point and the sudden surge thereafter. The government requested more time for preparation during this hearing, asking for an additional week. Consequently, the bail has been extended until November 25. The trial is scheduled for the morning in Rawalpindi and the afternoon in Islamabad on that day.
The former Federal Interior Minister also mentioned that Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz from the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court has summoned records of all supplementary cases. Rasheed emphasized how the number of registered cases against them will be revealed to the world within a week, stating that just three days before a certain point, they had no cases against them. As of now, 68 cases have emerged, with more anticipated.
