Faizabad sit-in (dharna) case; Former DGISI Faiz Hameed re-called.

Former DGISI General (Rtd) Faiz Hameed has once again been summoned regarding the Faizabad dharna case. Reports indicate that the Ministry of Defence has issued a fresh summons for Faiz Hameed to appear before the Faizabad Dharna Commission next week. This marks his second summoning related to the Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) protest.

The former DGISI is set to provide his statement to the Commission, aiming to aid in collecting evidence regarding the Faizabad sit-in and its underlying reasons. Faiz Hameed, being a former government official, is expected to assist in this investigation.

Earlier in December, Faiz Hameed was summoned but couldn’t attend due to delays in receiving the notice. Sources suggest that the Commission aims to finalize its report by the second week of January. Additionally, there have been mentions of Faiz Hameed’s involvement in pressuring PEMRA and controlling channel broadcasts during the Faizabad Dharna.
