Fans, dissatisfied with the World Cup song, have requested Ali Zafar to create a new song for the event.

Disgruntled fans of the 2023 World Cup expressed their disappointment with the official tournament song, titled ‘Dil Jashan Bole,’ following its release by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on a Wednesday. The displeasure was notably visible on various social media platforms.

On a particular social media platform, a fan appealed to Ali Zafar, suggesting, “We need a song sung in your voice.” In response, Ali Zafar stated, “I am always available if the country requires my services, but I follow my own creative process.”

Ali Zafar further commented, “The responsibility for such decisions lies with the prominent brands sponsoring these events. They employ marketing professionals who provide guidance. The corporate culture has its advantages and disadvantages, which I prefer not to comment on. However, if it doesn’t bring joy, it’s a matter of concern.”

It is worth mentioning that Ali Zafar, a renowned singer adored not only in Pakistan but also globally, has a history of composing anthems for the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the country’s premier T20 cricket competition. He created the inaugural PSL anthem, “Ab Khel Ke Dikha,” in 2016 and followed it up with “Ab Khel Jame” for the second season of PSL in 2017. Another one of his songs, “Ga,” also gained immense popularity.

The ICC World Cup is scheduled to take place in India from October 5 to November 19, featuring ten teams participating in a total of 45 league matches. The top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, which are set to be held in Mumbai on November 15 and Kolkata on November 16. The grand finale is slated for November 19 in Ahmedabad.
