Fazl-ur-Rehman; Two provinces are in grip of terrorism, what elections can be held in such a situation?

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the JUI chief, voiced concerns about the current state of unrest in two provinces, citing the grip of terrorism as a barrier to holding elections. During a media interaction in Islamabad, he highlighted discussions at a Federation of Madrasas meeting, emphasizing the need to address obstacles within the madrasa system and implement registration laws for these institutions.

Expressing readiness for elections, Fazlur Rehman stressed the necessity of a conducive environment for a fair electoral process. He criticized PTI, stating that their support has dwindled, with individuals previously aligned with PTI claiming coercion into joining. Fazlur Rehman highlighted the challenges posed by terrorism, citing the lack of policing in certain areas like Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and Lucky Marwat as impediments to conducting elections.

He also mentioned a collaborative movement with PML-N and expressed the intent to maintain ties and coordinate seat adjustments with PML-G while advocating for unity within the opposition. Fazlur Rehman reiterated readiness for elections but emphasized the need for an election-friendly environment, acknowledging disparities between regions like Lahore and others.
