Muzaffargarh: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, has accused certain institutions of violating the constitution, effectively staging a rebellion.
During a rally in Muzaffargarh, Maulana Fazlur Rehman asserted that these institutions had no role in the founding of Pakistan, but rather in its disruption. He declared readiness to face arrest or even death if necessary. He questioned the decision to import 35 million tons of insect-infested wheat, demanding accountability for the deal.
He clarified that his party was not rebelling, but those breaking the constitution were. He accused generals of manipulating the constitution and emphasized that rights would be obtained through struggle, not pleading. He criticized the increase in terrorism despite promises to combat it and questioned the effectiveness of border security, blaming the institutions for Pakistanis’ disillusionment with them.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman lamented the deteriorating peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, claiming the institutions’ authority had waned in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He called for the implementation of an Islamic system and economic rights as per the constitution. He highlighted scholars’ efforts to support peace, questioning if this was their crime.
He stated that no restrictions, such as the Fourth Schedule, would deter their cause, which would only gain momentum. He announced plans to celebrate Victory Day at Minar Pakistan on September 7, marking the Golden Jubilee of Khatam Nabuwat, and expressed hope that the Supreme Court would uphold constitutional principles regarding Qadianism. He called for a pledge to honor the Prophet’s legacy with utmost dedication.
Additionally, he highlighted the sacrifices of Palestinians and noted the growing recognition of Palestine by European countries, expressing solidarity with the Palestinian cause.
