ISLAMABAD: FBR took action against a major brand of the country involved in sales tax evasion worth billions of rupees and recovered around one and a half billion rupees in default surcharge and stolen tax.
According to the details, the Directorate Intelligence and Investigation of Inland Revenue Lahore, a subsidiary of FBR, had started an investigation by tracing sales tax evasion worth billions of rupees on behalf of one of the biggest brands in the country.
During the investigation, the said taxpayer was found to be involved in sales tax evasion of one billion and forty crore rupees.
On which not only the stolen amount of one billion and forty crore rupees was recovered, but around two crore and six lakh rupees have also been recovered in terms of surcharge and fine.
