Fear of suicide attacks in major cities of the country by four terrorist groups.

In Rawalpindi, concerns about potential terrorist activities in major cities such as Islamabad, Pindi, Peshawar, Quetta, and others have prompted heightened security measures.

News reports indicate that over 17 terrorists from various groups have been tasked with carrying out attacks in the country’s main urban centers. Law enforcement agencies have been directed to enhance security in response to this threat.

Additional IG Syed Khurram Ali of RPO Rawalpindi, along with CPO Rawalpindi Khalid Hamdani and district police chiefs across the division, issued a “Special and Specific Information Report” concerning potential terrorist activities. The report suggests that Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan’s leadership held a meeting in Kabul, planning attacks in January in cities such as Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and KPK. The districts of DI Khan, Tank, Quetta, Chaman, Pishan, and others may be affected. Funds for these activities have allegedly been acquired from Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan, and around 15 suicide bombers are reportedly ready for deployment.

The post reveals that a group of 10 to 12 militants, equipped with night vision glasses, hand grenades, and rocket launchers, led by Commander Salman alias Siddique, is stationed in the Zangli Budh Bir area of KP. Another group is reported to be present in Peshawar’s Hasan Khel area, with potential targets in Mianwali, Attock, and DG Khan. Security agencies have also been informed about the Dawood Batani group planning attacks in DI Khan.

Additionally, a special report mentions Baloch sub-nationalists planning to target their community, police, and law enforcement agencies in Rawalpindi Islamabad. A meeting in Afghanistan involving Baloch sub-nationalists reportedly assigned targets to five fighters. The Baloch sub-nationalists are said to be conducting a propaganda campaign against state institutions with the support of foreign intelligence agencies, particularly India.

RPO Rawalpindi Additional IG Syed Khurram Ali has assured CPO Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani and DPOs in Attock, Chakwal, and Jhelum that comprehensive security arrangements have been implemented to prevent any untoward incidents. Security will remain on high alert across the division, including Rawalpindi, with increased measures around vital installations and heightened monitoring at city entry and exit points.
