Finance Minister Ishaq Dar will hold a post-budget press conference today. Speaking on a private TV channel, Ishaq Dar has said that I have been dealing for 25 years, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has never been so late.
Ishaq Dar says that the IMF is doing this because of geopolitical issues. He said that we had arranged financing of four billion dollars, IMF is asking to arrange financing of another two billion dollars.
The finance minister says that we fulfilled every payment promise in the financial year ended, returned five and a half billion dollars to commercial banks, the ninth review should have been completed in February.
The leader of Muslim League-N said that Pakistan will not default, those who are re-imagining should stop scaring Pakistan, the tax collection target has been increased from Rs 7200 billion to Rs 9200 billion, they will achieve this target. He said that even the IMF did not challenge him.
