Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has acknowledged an error in omitting Imran Khan from a video highlighting the history of Pakistan cricket.
The PCB has rectified the situation by releasing an updated video that includes two pictures and a video clip of Imran Khan, who led the 1992 World Cup-winning team. The previous version of the video has been removed from social media platforms.
The PCB has clarified that, as part of its promotional campaign leading up to the World Cup 2023, a video was initially uploaded on August 14. Due to its length, the video had to be shortened, leading to the unintentional omission of crucial moments. However, the PCB has now released the complete version of the video.
The video initially shared by the PCB’s Twitter account on Independence Day showcased significant achievements and memorable instances in Pakistan cricket from 1952 to the present day. While it featured all the players from the 1992 World Cup-winning team, the absence of team captain Imran Khan drew criticism on social media.
Netizens highlighted that, despite political differences, Imran Khan’s presence is essential in a video chronicling the history of Pakistan cricket. They urged the PCB to ensure Imran Khan’s inclusion in the video.
