
In Islamabad, the Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, stated that the Prime Minister’s Office is currently assessing the prospect of drafting a letter to the IMF on behalf of Tehreek-e-Insaf.
During a weekly briefing at the Foreign Office, Zahra Baloch highlighted Pakistan’s successful completion of its term in the Group of 77 in Vienna on February 28. She also emphasized Pakistan’s vigilance regarding the human rights situation in Occupied Kashmir, as well as reiterated Pakistan’s stance at the Disarmament Conference last week.
Regarding recent events, the spokesperson strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ actions leading to the massacre of Palestinians, urging the international community to take notice. Pakistan also rejected India’s decision to ban factions of the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, alongside seven other Kashmiri parties.
Addressing the Pakistan-Iran Gas Pipeline Project, Zahra Baloch mentioned that the Cabinet Energy Committee has greenlit the project, emphasizing that no third-party involvement in the Iran-Pakistan agreement has been confirmed.
In response to reports from the US Department of Justice about citizens arrested for allegedly smuggling Iranian arms to Yemen, Zahra Baloch stated that Pakistan seeks consular access to confirm their identity, underlining ongoing communication with the American Embassy in Islamabad.
Regarding India, the spokesperson noted a historical pattern of Pakistan responding cautiously to India’s aggressive approaches, dismissing India’s statements as efforts to disrupt regional stability.
