ISLAMABAD: Former Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Tanveer Ilyas was arrested by Islamabad Police over an alleged family property dispute.
Sources confirmed that the former prime minister of Azad Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, has been taken to Margala police station following his arrest. The federal police have confirmed his arrest.
The case against Tanveer Ilyas involves the alleged seizure of family property and firing incidents. After his transfer, the doors of Margalla police station were closed, preventing anyone from entering. His lawyers and supporters have gathered outside the station.
Notably, on May 1, an FIR was registered against Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan for attempting to seize the central offices and important documents of Centaurus Mall. The complaint was lodged by Col (retd) Tipu Sultan, Deputy Security In-charge of The Centaurus Mall, naming Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, Muhammad Ali, Anil Sultan, Rizwan, and other unidentified individuals as accused.
The FIR detailed that Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, accompanied by an armed group of 20 to 25 individuals, forcibly entered the office at 1708 Centaurus Mall by breaking the lock. They attempted to take control of the office, but security guards thwarted their efforts. Tanveer Ilyas and his associates allegedly threatened to kill Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and Sardar Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan.
