
In the presence of thousands, the funeral prayers for Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and other high-ranking officials who recently passed away were conducted. The event, marked by emotional scenes, took place in Tehran.
President Ebrahim Raisi, who tragically died in a helicopter crash, was honored with funeral prayers led by Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. The bodies of the deceased were transported from Tabriz to Tehran by plane.
Among the mourners were thousands of people from various countries, including Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of the Palestinian resistance movement, who attended to pay their respects to the late President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, and other victims of the accident.
According to Iranian media, President Raisi will be laid to rest at the Imam Ali Reza Mausoleum in Mashhad.
The tragic accident, which occurred two days ago, claimed the lives of President Raisi, Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian, the Governor of East Azerbaijan, a Special Representative of the Supreme Leader, the Chief Security Guard, and three staff members. Following the incident, Vice President Mohammad Mokhber has assumed the presidential responsibilities.
The presidential election in Iran is scheduled for June 28.
