Technology company Google has announced a new policy regarding inactive email accounts. In the old policy introduced in 2020, the company ended the unlimited storage for Google Photos, saying that if the data in the account is not used for a period of two years, the company can delete it.
But recently product manager Ruth Crishley said in a blog post that an account can be completely deleted if it remains inactive for two years. According to reports, the new policy will not come into effect before December this year. On the other hand, deleted Gmail addresses will not be made available for reuse. According to Google, account activation is determined by reading or sending email, using Google Drive, watching YouTube videos, downloading an app from the Google Play Store, using Google Search, or signing into a third-party app or service with a Gmail address. By doing this is applied. According to Ruth Crishley, the new policy applies the company will start with accounts that have never been touched since they were created.
