
Today, the IMF Executive Board is set to convene in Washington, where Pakistan is expected to secure a fresh tranche of seventy million dollars.
As reported by Express News, during this meeting, the Executive Board will endorse the initial economic evaluation of Pakistan, leading to the disbursement of a new tranche amounting to 700 million dollars upon the approval of the staff level agreement.
The staff level agreement between Pakistan and the IMF was finalized on November 15 of the previous year. Under the existing $3 billion standby arrangement, Pakistan has already received $1.2 billion. The second review meeting within the framework of this loan program is slated for the upcoming month of February.
