RAWALPINDI: Following the cipher case hearing, Imran Khan, the founding Chairman of PTI, engaged in a heated exchange with Adiala Jail Superintendent Asad Waraich.
While addressing media representatives, Imran Khan was interrupted by Waraich, who insisted that political discussions were not the purpose of media coverage in the court premises.
Asserting his right to address the media, Imran Khan argued that it’s an open court, and he has High Court permission to speak to the media. Superintendent Waraich challenged him to produce a written order, suggesting he would discuss the matter with the judge the next day.
The situation escalated with the arrival of the DIG Prison Rawalpindi Region, who directed media representatives to leave the community center. Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, accused the Adiala Jail Superintendent of verbally abusing the PTI founder during the court proceedings. She expressed concern about the treatment of Imran Khan in jail, emphasizing the need for a speedy resolution of the pending petition in the Supreme Court regarding his sentence suspension.
Aleema Khan urged the Chief Justice to expedite the hearing of the appeal, seeking Imran Khan’s disqualification from contesting elections. She emphasized the importance of a transparent hearing for the benefit of the entire nation.
