Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, asserted during a media interaction at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, that he is willing to remain incarcerated while urging the release of other party leaders.
He emphasized the need for Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa to address PTI’s petition from May 25 and establish a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 incidents, which have not undergone any inquiry yet. Imran Khan highlighted Chief Justice Isa’s directive to retrieve CCTV footage and underscored the gravity of concealing such evidence.
Drawing parallels to Israel’s blame on Palestine for terrorism, Imran Khan lamented the accusations against PTI regarding the May 9 incident, suggesting a targeted elimination of his party based on this event. He referenced his own incarceration in relation to facilitating Nawaz Sharif’s return and the apparent clearance of corruption charges against Nawaz Sharif, his family, and Zardari.
Imran Khan stressed the necessity of a judicial inquiry, particularly regarding the February 8 events where electoral outcomes were allegedly manipulated. He questioned the credibility of the Election Commission to conduct an impartial investigation, given the perceived electoral irregularities.
Furthermore, Imran Khan demanded fair treatment for incarcerated PTI members, citing their health concerns. He also expressed interest in revisiting statements made by Asad Majeed in the National Security Committee meeting and probing the involvement of the American Embassy in Pakistan, particularly in light of remarks made by Donald Lowe.
Imran Khan raised doubts regarding the handling of sensitive information, such as cipher documents, and criticized the lack of inquiry into potential breaches. He highlighted security lapses and questioned the authenticity of provided cipher copies.
Regarding his legal proceedings, Imran Khan expressed dissatisfaction with the swift issuance of three sentences within five days, revealing prior predictions of his legal fate by a TV anchor. He advocated for live telecasts of his hearings for transparency.
Lastly, Imran Khan dismissed Rana Sanaullah’s statements as tactics employed by mafias to undermine political opponents. He mentioned plans for political competition on February 8 and the alleged obstruction in meeting the Parliamentary Leader of Punjab.
