Imran Khan, the founder of PTI, expressed his appreciation for the judges who authored the letter, stating his wish for a full court hearing and emphasizing the importance of a seven-judge bench over a commission.
He raised concerns about the alleged poisoning of his wife, Bushra Bibi, attributing responsibility to the establishment if any harm befell her.
In discussions with the media from Adiala Jail, Imran Khan commended the courage of the judges who penned the letter, highlighting the perceived helplessness of both judges and law enforcement officials under pressure. He also mentioned his awareness of the “London Plan” and its alleged implementation by the Chief Election Commissioner and the caretaker government, aiming to undermine PTI.
Imran Khan emphasized the significance of the judges’ letter and advocated for its thorough examination by a full court, rather than a commission. He raised questions about the absence of investigation into the Rawalpindi commissioner’s role in the electoral process and criticized the government’s failure to attract investment, attributing it to a loss of investor confidence and a sluggish economy.
Regarding Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui’s case, Imran Khan expressed willingness to investigate allegations made against General (R) Faiz and emphasized the need for accountability. He also voiced concerns about fascism in Punjab and his alleged isolation from consultation processes.
During a court hearing regarding a financial reference, Imran Khan alleged an attempt to poison Bushra Bibi and requested a comprehensive medical examination, holding General Asim Munir responsible for her safety. He criticized the alleged control of ISI over various aspects of governance and called for a medical examination by Dr. Asim, expressing distrust in the initial examination conducted by a junior doctor.
Bushra Bibi herself spoke out about rumors regarding her allegiance and complained about deteriorating health due to suspected poisoning, citing swelling, chest and stomach pains, and bitterness in food and water. She referenced a saying about servants consuming servants, suggesting a metaphorical interpretation in the context of judges and institutions.
