After the Rajasthan accident, the Indian Air Force grounded the entire fleet of MiG-21 fighter jets.
The entire fleet has been grounded pending an investigation into the famous MiG-21 plane crash in Rajasthan earlier this month.
It should be noted that on May 8, a MiG-21 aircraft that took off from Suratgarh Airbase crashed in the village of Hanumangarh, in which 3 villagers lost their lives.
Senior defense officials told the media that the MiG-21 fleet has been grounded pending an investigation into the accident.
Various models of the MiG-21 have been part of the Indian Air Force for the past 50 years. Now there are only 3 MiG-21 squadrons in the Indian Air Force and all of them will be retired in 2025.
MiG-21 aircraft were inducted into the Air Force in the 1960s and so far 800 aircraft have been part of the Indian Air Force.
