Indore: Yet another incident of tension between different religious communities has emerged in India.
Reports from Indian media reveal that in a neighborhood in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Muslim women were observed adorning the streets in celebration of the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
According to onlookers present at the scene, a group of Hindu extremists reacted strongly upon seeing the street decorations, attempting to damage and remove them. When the women who were decorating the street intervened to prevent the vandalism, they were physically assaulted by the Hindu extremists in broad daylight.
Regrettably, the local police in the area, following a pattern, did not take immediate action and refrained from making any arrests. Despite the incident being captured on video and widely circulated on social media, clearly displaying the identities of the Hindu extremists involved, the police have stated that they are currently investigating the matter.
