Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar says that international cooperation is necessary for maritime stability.
Addressing the conference on Blue Economy in Islamabad, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar said that there are investment opportunities in Pakistan’s maritime affairs industry. Blue Economy is inevitable to advance the economic development of Pakistan. The government is taking steps to adapt the fisheries sector to modern requirements.
Ishaq Dar further said that the ship breaking industry will be aligned with modern technology. Pakistan aims to become a regional delivery hub. In the future, the port sector of Pakistan will see growth.
The decarbonisation of the maritime industry continues. Environmental responsibility is a priority for Pakistan. Employment generation and economic stability will come through blue economy. We will continue to work together with the International Maritime Organization for sustainable development. The process of investment in Pakistan is being made easier for domestic and foreign investors.
