Justice (Retd) Tasadeq Jilani has declined to lead the judicial commission tasked with investigating allegations against the ISI by High Court judges.
News reported that Justice (Retd) Tasadeq Hussain Jilani conveyed his decision to the Prime Minister via a letter, suggesting that the Chief Justice should handle the matter within the institution. He addressed a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him, as well as acknowledging the Chief Justice and Senior Judge Justice Mansoor Ali Shah. However, he stated his inability to chair the Judicial Commission. He suggested that the issue raised by six judges of the Islamabad High Court should be addressed either by the Judicial Council or the Supreme Court itself.
