The police have prepared to hand over the investigation of the cases registered under the Army Act to the army.
According to the sources, in the first phase, it has been decided to prosecute the case of attack on GHQ under the Army Act, while the accused arrested in the case will also be handed over to the army. It should be noted that former Law Minister Raja Basharat is also a named accused in the case. Police sources say that 18 cases have been registered against violent incidents in Rawalpindi, in which 225 accused have been arrested.
A new case will not be registered for investigation of cases under the Army Act. The provisions of the Army Act will be added to the case number 708/23 registered in Police Station RA Bazar. The case of GHQ attack is registered in the complaint of Police Sub-Inspector Malik Muhammad Riaz. The case includes 10 provisions including Section 7ATA of Anti-Terrorism, in which former Law Minister Raja Basharat and PTI activist Khalid Jadoon have been named.
