The High Court has released a formal decision stating that the bail plea of the PTI chairman in a 190 million pounds scam is not valid.
Chief Justice Islamabad High Court, Justice Aamir Farooq, and Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri jointly issued a detailed ruling. The court emphasized that the application seeking bail reinstatement became ineffective once the PTI Chairman was arrested. This ruling came after the trial court denied the bail application. The request to nullify this decision was also dismissed.
The court highlighted that the PTI Chairman’s bail application was previously rejected on August 10, and subsequent to his arrest by NAB, he can now apply for bail in the relevant court. The court clarified that the absence of the PTI Chairman from the trial court was not intentional.
The court explicitly stated that when NAB makes an arrest, any attempt to reinstate bail becomes void. Consequently, the legality of the PTI Chairman’s arrest cannot be evaluated in this particular petition.
