The Islamabad High Court has ordered a forensic examination of an audio involving Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, and her lawyer, Latif Khosa, in a leaked audio case. The court instructed the FIA to conduct a forensic analysis of the audio and investigate its initial release. Additionally, the court directed a copy of the application to be sent to the DGISI to determine the source of the audio leak.
Notices have been issued to FIA, PEMRA, and PTA, asking for their responses, while objections to the petition have been dismissed. Justice Babar Sattar expressed concerns about private conversations being aired on TV channels, directing PEMRA to address this issue.
During the proceedings, Latif Khosa highlighted the privileged nature of conversations between a lawyer and client, to which Justice Babar Sattar humorously remarked about widespread surveillance. There was laughter in the courtroom over this exchange.
Justice Babar Sattar questioned who recorded the audio, to which Khosa hinted at the pervasive nature of surveillance. The court deliberated on tracing the audio’s original release on social media platforms, emphasizing the importance of identifying the source of the leak to ascertain who recorded it.
Khosa argued that the audio was aired by multiple TV channels, expressing concerns about privacy breaches. The court adjourned further hearings until December 11.
